Has any pilot ever let the passenger fly the plane?

Image
yes, many, and some were tragic. The crash of Flight 593 of the Russian airline Aeroflot, in the early hours of March 23, 1994, is one of the most surreal in the history of commercial aviation. With 75 people on board, including 63 passengers and 12 crew, the Airbus A310 crashed after commander Yaroslav Kudrinsky put his 16-year-old son in his place during the flight. The Aeroflot flight took off from Moscow (Russia) to Hong Kong (Administrative Region of China). More than four hours after takeoff, Captain Yaroslav Kudrinsky's children decided to visit their father in the cockpit. Excited by the feeling of piloting a commercial airliner, Eldar pushed the stick too hard, and the sudden movement caused the plane's autopilot to be partially disengaged. Thus, even after giving the command for the autopilot to return to the original heading, the plane continues to increase the inclination of the wings. With the relaxed atmosphere inside the cockpit of the Airbus A310, the pilot an...

What is it like working as part of the flight cabin crew in an airline?

Image
To all the aspiring and future cabin crew Being a cabin crew  is one of the most challenging as well as one of the most rewarding professions. It may sound an exaggeration to some. However, anyone who has seen this profession closely (been flying or having associated with people who fly), they very well know this truth. Your uniform will act as an inspiration to many, your wings will give you pride and the warm smiles around you will give you confidence. Glamour, travel, a handsome salary are all part of this very elaborate profile. We will talk in brief about both the challenges and rewards. But trust us, even after all the challenges, it is a job that has unparalleled advantages and experiences. First the challenges: When one starts flying, some may find it difficult to cope up with the physical stress of it. Flying for 4-5 hours or more continuously while working becomes a very tedious task and mostly the body is not able to cope with the new change. Also, there comes a s...

Things you should know about Cabin Crew Job Interviews !!!

Image
Most airlines organize their interviews into two rounds. the group interview and the personal interview Before you can get to the personal interview, you must clear the group discussion rounds. So I am going to mention about how to clear this round and if you clear this round in this particular format then the personal interview could just be a mere formality. Group discussion : You would be put in a group of 10–15 people and will be given a random topic (relating to airline or non related) and will be given time frame with a center table which will have a pen and paper and asked to discuss the topic. When you sit down, make sure you have correct body posture which is completely formal and open ended and never close ended or not something like defensive with folded hands etc. After the interviewer has spoken about the topic, be the first one to pick up the pen and the paper. It doesn't matter if you write down any points on it or not but the initiative is extremely important and wi...

what must I know before I choose to Take a career in Aerospace Engineering?

Image
The longer the time you spend in the industry the better you'll truly understand the big picture. What do I mean by this ? You'll likely study Aerodynamics, Flight Dynamics, Stress Analysis and other key subject matter areas. You'll then enter the work force or go on to further post grad education where you will specialize but it will be only after Some years in the industry, having been exposed to many different programs in many different roles and having worked with many other people, who are subject matter experts in their own right, in fields other than yours, do you gain the wide insight into how every design decision may or may not affect other characteristics of an aerospace vehicle. After 10 years in the industry, I still haven't yet gained that level of insight and I constantly enjoy learning just a little bit more each and every day. What should you know before you join the ranks ? (1) - You should be comfortable with exercising the highest level of attentio...
