Top World Trends in The Aviation industry- why it is important to keep up with industrial trends !!!

Increased Traffic growth

Driven by the emerging middle class, passenger traffic has doubled every 15 years. Forecasts have confirmed that this trend will continue. This results in the necessity to upgrade airport infrastructure and an  increased demand for pilots, aeronautical engineers ,cabin crews and all other stakeholders in the aviation industry

The Asia-Pacific region has witnessed a booming air-travel population. As a result, suppliers have targeted this region to gain market presence, thus presenting opportunities for growth.

To undertake massive infrastructure upgrade projects, companies form consortiums with service providers from different segments.

Low cost airlines will gain a greater market share worldwide

IBA, the leading aviation data, intelligence and advisory company, reported that over 130 start-up airlines will commence operations by the end of 2022. Forty percent of these airlines are projected to be based in Europe. One of the reasons for this expected growth is the adoption of the low-cost, long-haul business model by both current low-cost airlines, which is also anticipated for the start-ups.

Mechanically, new engines are totally changing maintenance profile

Noise is way down, efficiency way up. You can do things you’d never dream of now as line maintenance. IoT trend monitoring and predictive analytics will soon allow so much more of the aircraft to be “on condition.”

Some Airlines in our country are planning to launch internet services while flying in air. Currently it is not possible in our country but we can learn from other foreign companies which provides internet services without any Disturbance on Air

longer range and crazy comfort including showers and world-wide ultra-high speed connectivity. You can now stream movies in the air. Also lower cabin altitudes and better environmental control including humidification. Larger windows and skylights allow much more natural light and LED cabin lighting allows great aesthetics and functional lighting to decrease jet lag.

CO2 Emissions reduction shall remain top priority

At this time, the majority of major airlines have signed on the net zero emissions by 2050 initiative. It is hoped that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will ratify that plan in 2022. The main focus for achieving this goal will be the greater use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Other measures will include the wider spread use of electric vehicles (i.e., for ground handling operations, as well as electric air taxis).

why is it important to keep up with industrial trends???

During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included, teared sadly.

Nokia has been a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were too powerful.

They missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big. Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost their chance of survival.

The message of this story is, if you don’t change, you shall be removed from the competition.

It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated.

Conclusion:

1. The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.

To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance. To be forced by others to change, is like being discarded.

Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way

Kenya Aeronautical College keeping up with the trend in the aviation training

collaborations and new projects

1. Kenya Aeronautical College Shenyang aerospace university collaboration .

under this collaboration, the students study for their first and second year at the college with Shenyang aerospace approved lecturers and move to Shenyang aerospace university for third and four year. for over 10 years, this program has enabled hundreds of students to graduate with a bachelors in aerospace Engineering and also gain international aviation  exposure.. most of the alumni of this program are working in renowned aviation companies and airlines globally. some of the companies such as Boeing, airbus, emirates, Qatar and many others

2. Kenya Aeronautical college zasti (Zambia Air service Training Institute)collaboration

in the bid to extend flight Training to the rest of Africa, Kenya aeronautical college has collaborated with zasti to start pilot training in Zambia. the collaboration has complimented zasti aviation training by providing flight and flight operations and dispatch training. Zambia is a great country but did not have a flight school, through this, Zambians will not have to travel 1000s of kilometers to seek flight training abroad.

3. Kenya aeronautical college and The Aircraft Maintenance College in Netherlands

in the bid to offer professional training and tap into the global aviation market for their students, Kenya aeronautical college has collaborated with AMC to offer the B1B2  EASA license (AMEL)

training  and exams. AMC is an approved  EASA training center offering the B1B2 EASA AMEL training and exams.  on successful completion of the modules and exams, candidates are taken for the OJT(On Job Training ) in the following countries. France, UAE, Netherlands, Malta and Turkey. this has raised the students chances of being absorbed into the international job market.

4. Kenya aeronautical college and the National Institute of Training in Tanzania Collaboration.

after obtaining an IATA( International Air Transport Association ) certification and becoming a regional training center, in the bid to offer professional cabin crew training, Kenya aeronautical college  has also collaborated with NIT to offer the cabin crew license program. under this program, students will not only obtain an IATA certificate but also complete their course with a cabin crew operating license on various types of Aircrafts

5.Kenya Aeronautical college KCAA Approved  Maintenance Organization(AMO)

In the bid to offer internship and practical training to the students, mostly aeronautical engineering students, KAC has built a great AMO that is CAA Approved where her students shall be taking the practical training so as to gather the necessary skills that are needed in the aviation industry. the skills are not only necessary for professional training but also a requirement by the Kenya civil aviation authority for students to gain practical skills before they can qualify to sit for their license exams.

we understand that airlines may sometimes be reluctant to take on all the students that may need attachment/internship training at ago so the college thought it wise to come up with a facility that would absorb all her students for a tailored industrial training program.

6. KAC Congo

Congo is a very resourceful and great country whose nationals are aviation enthusiast. the KAC management together with senior aviators in the DRC, Goma Region have embarked on starting a KAC Congo branch. the schools major objective shall be to offer professional aviation training in areas of piloting, aeronautical engineering, flight cabin crew, flight operations and many other aviation related courses.
